Hello beautiful beings,

It has been a long while. I’ve been working at a different loom.

For two years, most of my threads have run into the Longmont house I’ve been renovating into a retreat. Soul Medicine Sanctuary is becoming a home for community gatherings, Authentic Relating, Neoshamanic IFS, cacao and tea ceremony, and the creative medicine work of healing and transformation. I’m excited to be close to the final knot of this weave, and to offer the nurturance this house was built to hold.

Tending this renovation has taught me so much about patience, surrender and the sacred practice of saying ‘no’ to so many things (including newsletters) that pulled at my attention, in order to say ‘yes’ to the time, energy, care, and no small expense it took to bring the quaking vision to fruition.

Now the last threads are being tied, which allows me to be here, again, showing up to offer what fills my heart.

THE SANCTUARY, WAKING SLOWLY

The rooms are warming now with a few small local gatherings. Many of you live far from Colorado, so I won’t list them here; peek at the events page if you’re curious.

If you’re close and want to hear as gatherings come up, join the Sanctuary Signal group or the Longmont Conscious Kinship Collective on Facebook.

In 2027 I expect to host many more live trainings, community gatherings and retreats here, so keep an eye out for the next threads we weave newsletter.

Early bird: $50 off with the code kindness through 10/26.

Touch is the first language any of us learned, and the one most of us were never taught to speak with clients. For several years, practitioners have asked me to start a touch consultation group again, but the “no” that made room for the “yes” had to hold a while longer. Now there is room on the loom again for the offerings that have been calling. So here is the first touch consultation group I’ve done in almost two years.

It’s for therapists, guides, facilitators and helpers whose work brings them into contact with another body, licensed or not. Online, beginning 11/4, with locals welcome in person at the Sanctuary. Six monthly gatherings carry the same circle from the first frost to the first green of spring.

TOUCH WITH SUBSTANCE, TOMORROW

I’m returning to Touch with Substance, an online conference on touch in psychedelic spaces, for the second time.

In 2024 I spoke on Somatic Psychedelic Therapeutic Support Skills. That replay is available on its own.

This year the talk is “When Legal Isn’t Ethical: Psychedelics, Touch, and the Cost of Regulation.” Friday 10/16, 12:00 pm Pacific, 1:00 pm Mountain. Tickets are sliding scale, and if you can’t make it at that time, no worries: registration includes the replays.

NEW ON THE BLOG

A squirrel taking a pecan from an open hand

As the weather is softening, I find myself gathered up in cozy pajamas and house sweaters, nursing on tea and writing about what is moving through me. Two new posts have found their way out. The latest, We’ll See, speaks to what rises when fear grabs hold of me over everything going on in this country, and what helps me loosen its grip. The other, When the Earth Calls Me Down, is about the beauty that comes with having POTS, a medical condition that can make being upright a challenge. May they be of service.

With love and gratitude,
Sabrina
