Father,
I never spoke the words
But I wanted to tell you
that I loved you.
And it would have meant so much to me
if you could have loved me
or even cared
but you never did.
I’m twenty-three now.
You left me at fifteen.
Eight long years I’ve been
trying to forget your
name.
Father,
I cry out for you
knowing you wouldn’t return
even if you could hear my wailing.
Father,
Father,(?)
I cry out for you,
Still.
