Embodied Meditation & Inquiry
through Somatic Spirituality
4-5:30 Pacific, 5-6:30 Mountain, 6-7:30 Central, 7-8:30 Eastern
Embodied (Somatic) Mediation holds that the body is the gateway to our Root Source and the holder of our deepest wisdom. We are born with an innate and intimate relationship with the wisdom of our bodies, however the traumas of living, be they medical, cultural, familial or racial, often make our bodies an unsafe place to inhabit. Our birthright, our primal source of wisdom and guidance, becomes obscured.
This rupture makes us deaf to the deep wisdom that our body holds about our physical and day-to-day lives and limits us in one of the most accessible doorways to the divine. Unlike many other meditation practices, Embodied Meditation teaches the practice of being in loving, compassionate and respectful relationship with the body. Embodied meditation practices can be done laying down, sitting up, or in movement. If you have had difficulty meditating or are looking to deepen your connection to your the Greater Something, your Authentic Self and the parts of you that interfere with that connection, Embodied Meditation may be a practice to explore.
Embodied meditation practices come from esoteric Vajrayana/Tibetan/Tantric teachings. Integrated within the practice and discussion are useful bits from other traditions, including paganism, neo-shamanism, somatic psychotherapy, neuroscience, and trauma recovery. We will start the practice off with an exploration into the integration of the Mundane and Spiritual Worlds and practices for cultivating a fully lived life. We then follow with an Embodied Meditation practice and close with connections. Please note that these meditation practices will be filmed and recorded so that others not present may benefit from the practices. Future meditations may also be attended live when fully vaccinated.
